Kristi Zalesky, a Destination Weddings Designer with Explore Your World Vacations, has been amazing in helping us with all the resort details. We have set up a group room block with the resort for our wedding. Explore Your World Vacations will be assisting our guests in reserving rooms at our group rate. We have our very own Group Travel Manager, Colette, to assist our wedding guests!

Borgo Bastia Creti is a historic little hamlet dating back to the 14th century, perfectly located on the border zone between Umbria and Tuscany. Situated on the top of a hill with spectacular 360 degree views of rolling countryside, overlooking the unspoiled historic Niccone Valley, it has 13 bedrooms for up to 30 guests and a beautiful swimming pool.

With its five star accommodation, meticulously maintained grounds and amazing views, Borgo Bastia Creti is elegant, rustic and informal, all at the same time. It radiates harmony and unspoilt beauty from every angle. Restored in a charmingly rustic style, the five properties range in size from a romantic retreat for two to larger properties perfect for families or groups of friends and are close to each other, but far enough away to guarantee your privacy whether you are travelling in groups, or on an individual holiday.

The extensive and beautifully landscaped grounds of Borgo Bastia Creti will surprise you: the gardens are comprised of flowers, cypress trees, pomegranates, aromatic bushes and beautiful century old olive trees shaped like artworks, superb far-reaching views of the hills in the distance and many shady corners available for sitting and enjoying the calm and very peaceful atmosphere. There is an abundance of space for your children to run, play safely and soak up the fresh Umbrian air. The property is 400mt above the sea level and surrounded by a rolling hills and valleys. The evenings are characterized by a gentle breeze and as there is no light pollution in our unspoiled valley, it is the perfect place for star gazing. All your five senses will appreciate being here.

Gli Ulivi​
140 sq meters | 2 bedroom, 2 bath

Gli Ulivi is a bright, very spacious 2 story apartment with entrance a few steps up from the old Hamlet's courtyard. It offers astonishing views from every side. Gli Ulivi has its own space in the shady, ivy-covered courtyard (shared with another accommodation called I Cipressi) or guests can walk through the courtyard arch and sit in one of the shady areas available on the extensive grounds. Ground floor: living room with fireplace (and a double sofa bed), large kitchen with large table. First floor: 1 very large double bedroom 180 cm (convertible into a twin) with en suite bathroom with bathtub and over bath shower, 1 twin bedroom (convertible into a double) with en suite bathroom with shower.

Il Cottage is a free standing bright house in a panoramic position with private space composed of 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Living room with fireplace, kitchen with huge glass window overlooking the valley, dining table. French window opening onto a paved terrace with garden furniture and sun umbrella, 1 smaller double bedroom with French bed 150cm and en suite bathroom with shower, 1 large double bedroom 180 cm (convertible into a twin) with direct access outside and bathroom with bathtub and over bath shower, just at the end of the bedroom's corridor. ​Outside steps from the suggestive Hamlet's courtyard lead up to the small entrance lobby of I Cipressi, where an important marble staircase connects the 2 floors of the house. This extremely spacious and elegant house has lovely views from each window. I Cipressi has its own space in the shady, ivy-covered courtyard (shared with another accommodation called Gli Ulivi) or guests can walk through the courtyard arch and sit in one of the shady areas available on the extensive grounds.

The Chapel 
A XII century Chapel, nowadays deconsecrated, has been converted into a relaxed meeting space for communal use between guests. With its high ceilings, frescoed walls and central open fireplace, it is a charming, elegant space where guests are welcomed on arrival and where the on-site manager can assist with any requests.  Books, guides, dvds, tennis / table tennis racquets and balls, a communal laptop, as well as a large area with comfortable sofas in front of the lovely open fireplace and a piano, are all available for guests use.

For sleeping: 2 comfortable double bedrooms with ensuite bathroom for a maximum of 4 situated in the Borgo old Chapel.

The Chapel can be used as an indoor space for meetings, or yoga/pilates sessions, drawing room, or in case of a wedding as a possible space for the symbolic ceremony, aperitif, serving of the desert, dance floor after the banquet, or the banquet if the group is small.

Kindly note the Chapel kitchen and its equipment are not available for guests use.

La Limonaia​

Frequently Asked Questions / Wedding Gift Registry

Do We need passports?
Please keep in mind that everyone, including children and infants, must have a valid passport to travel to Italy.
​A passport card is not valid for international air travel. A passport book is mandatory.

It is recommended to renew passports with less than 6 months of validity from your return date. While Italy is not strict on the 6 month requirement, it is the ticket agent at the airport that will ultimately decide if you will be allowed to board the flight. Airline employees are often trained to follow the 6 month requirement regardless of country requirements. Are you willing to risk it? Our advice, play it safe.

Passport renewal times are approximately 12 weeks. Minor children need to apply in person with both parents present.

IF YOU HOLD A FOREIGN PASSPORT OR HAVE VISA CONCERNS PLEASE VERIFY THAT YOU HAVE THE PROPER DOCUMENTATION TO TRAVEL FOR YOUR SPECIFIC SITUATION. 

​It is the passenger's responsibility to have proper documentation for international travel. 
What happens if I need to cancel my trip?
The resort's penalties are based on when you cancel your trip. All deposits are nonrefundable. Cancellations or reductions made after final payment are non-refundable.
​Travel insurance is highly recommended. The travel insurance premium is non-refundable.
​If you have paid for travel insurance, you may consult with the insurance provider to see if the non-refundable $250 per person deposit may be filed as a claim. ​
Are airport transfers included?
Round-trip airport transfers will be added to your package at an additional cost. We must have your flight information within 3 weeks of your departure date. If we do not receive your flight details within 3 weeks of your trip, this will result in your cancellation of your ground transportation. You will not be refunded any costs for transportation. It will be up to you to find transportation to and from the resort if you do not provide the flight details needed for us to arrange transportation. 

Make sure you reconfirm your return transfer with the transportation company 24-48 hours prior to departure. If you are not waiting for your driver at your assigned pick-up time you will be considered a no-show and will need to have the resort call a taxi at your own expense. Don't miss your transfer! 
Is tipping required?
ITALY 
In restaurants, a cover charge or "coperto" is included on the bill for table linens and bread. It is not a gratuity. Waiters are hired with a monthly salary and do not depend on gratuities. If you do decide to leave a few extra euros, it should be done in cash so that it goes directly to your server and not the restaurant. 

  • Restaurants - 10-15% if a service charge is not included on check
  • Hotels - 1 Euro/day for Housekeeping 2Euro per bag for porters
  • Taxi Drivers - Not expected but leaving the change is customary
  • Tour Guides - 10% on average, but vary depending on the type of tour

​Tipping Guidelines:
The following amounts are considered per group of min 2-max 4 people traveling together and not per person. If you have a DRIVER-ASSISTANT, feel free to invite him/her to join you for the meal and pay for it.

Transfer from Airport to city center (or viceversa): Euro 10 Transfer from rail station to city center (or viceversa):Euro 5

SMALL GROUP TOURS

Local currency is euros. You can visit your bank prior to travel to order euros. Local ATM's will dispense local currency should you need more cash. 
When will I receive my travel documents? ​
Travel itinerary documents are electronic and issued approximately two weeks prior to your departure date. You will receive an invite by email to download the Trip Plans App. Please take time to review the important details and wedding agenda provided through our travel app.

Legal Matters - can i be denied entry?
Owe back child support? Past DUI or DWI issues? Felony convictions? Visa concerns?
You may not clear customs if you answered yes to these questions. Please contact your attorney to review the specifics of your case. 
Is there a minimum night stay required? ​
The cost of the villa is for all 5 nights and the price will not change for shorter stays or less guests. 
Can I have a guest stay with me for just part of my stay?
The occupancy of each room should remain the same through the entirety of the reservation. We can potentially book multiple reservations, if needed.
WHAT HAPPENS IF i DON'T BOOK WITH EXPLORE YOUR WORLD VACATIONS?
The wedding couple have paid a deposit to pre-reserve rooms for your group. They kindly ask that you book your hotel within our designated group contract through Explore Your World Vacations.  Bookings made through Explore Your World Vacations receive the service and support of their chosen destination wedding specialist in addition to the group benefits. 
Can I make payments?
Yes! We can sent up a monthly payment schedule. All payments need to be made before the final payment deadline.
